As the paper is thin enough wooden texture is recognizable on the surface. And the photos are here and there touched with paint, so the miniatures look like paint on wood. Each of them are framed uniquely by wood particles an little stones picked up from different nature sites Continue reading →

Cute colourful bags made from plastic bags by Mrs Snezana Ruzic are a nice representation of the 3R slogan: Recycle, Reuse, Reduce whose consequent use would eliminate the amounts of unrecyclable waste. Snezana uses the thinnest bags as her material for this unique knitting project. Plastic bags are one of the biggest problems of modern civilisation because they are hard to collect and are unrecyclable. Could you imagine how much effort, time and labour is needed to collect only a kilo of these bags,as each bag is practically weightless! The research estimate that every year we use tens of billions of this almost undestroyable material. The large number of plastic bags never make it to composts they end up being everywhere. The wind and air currents spread them through forests, seas, lakes and rivers as well as through cities and villages. Thoughthe biggest portion of this ends up in oceans and seas. Plastic bags float on the surface of the Northern of Arctica and southtowarda the Focland islands. Plastic bags are threaten to wild animals, plunge the sewers, they rather hang on trees as unsightly “decoration”, they stick by bank; they grow out like “flowers”,by the road they flap their wings when the wind twirls up. Plastic bags were designed in the sixties. At first they looked like a great idea because they weighed little to nothing and they were manufactured with little energy. Snezana’s plastic knit bags are a great idea! With her creativity and effort she makes unique, light bags for “every day” shopping, beach, swimming pool or picnic, which are enduring and easy to clean.

We look at those sad, transparent plastic bottles collected in our workshop and we try to make something out of it. We still wonder on the mind that invented production of nothing out of something, typical contradiction taking natural resources as if it is nothing and producing nothing as if it is something. We see only useless garbage. There is no logic in the thesis that converting cash into debt brings profit. Even old Marx does not help with his labour added value, since this particular bottle was made for a single liter of water and then its use expire. Once the water is poured out the very substance and purpose of the bottle ceases. Alas its useless existence may last for unlimited period of time, too long. Such enterprise have not created value of bottle per se, it did create an illusion which we, victims of fraud, eventually buy.
It has been extremely hard to invent any idea that would change the substance of the PET bottle into something of any value. We have used their shape. We have cut their tops and used it to make candle holders.

How to make it?
